Well I guess if I’m going to start a blog about fishing hunting and muddin; I better start off by providing everyone a general bearing of where we are in the season. Fishing is a no go until the spring, because the cold water temperatures drive the fish down south and out of our casting range. However do be aware that as of January 1 2011 any residents of New Jersey will now be required to possess a salt water fishing license at all times while fishing the ocean. So unless you want to get a late start in the season I would recommend going out and purchasing one at your favorite Pells Bait and Tackle in Mantoloking NJ as soon as possible. Hunting as well as Fishing has come to a halt as of the closing of bow season January 31st. Unfortunately for now there is still too much snow covering ground for any off roading to be in the picture. It’s been a long winter for all of us but the end is finally near, with a little more weather like today we can get back out in the woods a few times before winter snaps back into affect and freezes over the wilderness once again. As for this week with Fishing, Hunting and Off Roading deemed impossible the winter blues are starting to set in. All we can do for now is hope next week will be warmer weather and spring is on its way.
